Noise Soup

2018
Exploration

We have experimented with fractal noise in order to manipulate and displace the surface of 3D objects and create articulated and complex patterns and geometries. In fractal 3D noise the noise can be thought of as a sort of soup of evenly spaced points in a 3D space, each with a vector assigned to it. If one "dips" an object into the noise soup, the vectors of the points will transform the shape of the object by displacing it in their associated direction.
